🎯 right on, Danny!
Identify with this so strongly! Thanks for this post, Danny!
Thanks for listening
Your like the new modern Bob Ross, your videos are so calming and very helpful for me. Your art is also very interesting to me, has a sense of whimsical humor mixed with sarcasm.
Wow, thank you!
Very nice spontan and relax atmosphäre video.
Love it 😍
Thank you! 😊
One of your best, especially for me. We just moved into a new home and I feel like I have to unpack boxes continually until everything is in order -- no time for fun stuff. But, tomorrow really WILL be another day, and I'm gonna make art (on my brand new fabulous art table that is so pristine I have hesitated to do anything but admire it). 🙂PS - Art is the funnest stuff.
I loved them all
If you wait till the last min it only takes a minute to do !
I actually got a wee bit emotional watching and listening to this. Thank you Danny, this one hit home. 🥲😊
1:40 I like how you did the muzzle with blues. The eyes truly look spherical. And 1:44 is a lovely spread. I need to do this kind of journaling more.
The banter at the end had me ROFL... You people!!
The first step in the process reminds me of the study of the humanities. Good work!
I agree with you, sir! We need to find the best pencils that works with us 😮
Felt the paranoid thing being a person that likes to draw and is Schizoaffective XD
Oh Katie Daisy! I love her calendar books!❤
Thank you for your advice and tips. It is much appreciated.
Listicles... love that.
Oh, wow, I so wanted to love this! The vegan me just couldn't handle it though. I'll try again next time.
Thx for motivation ❤
This brought up some memories from way back in mid 90’s when I was in a college art course. There I was given a brand of markers, Tria. (Don’t know if they are still around). They were fume-less. I got a box set that 5 or 6 ‘trays’ for different colour ‘themes’: purple to red spectrum, autumn browns, warm greys, cool greys, etc. Also, they had 3 different tips- fine, regular, and chisel, all in one pen. Replacements could be bought. Pull out the old, push in the new. And since you have the pen open, fill up the pen. Don’t throw it out when the ink runs out. Tricky part was no way to know how much.
Bravo! A very enjoyable and informative chat. ❤
Love the end haha..... So true though. Affects us all I think!
Ive been urban sketching for a couple of years in ink and watercolor. I try to find a lesson in each completed piece. Sometimes it's in the drawing -- perspective, proportions, etc -- and sometimes it's in the painting -- colors , paper, etc -- but there's always something to learn.
That's a great idea!
That's a good idea. I will see if I can find them. Thanks so much.
Please do!
Tip : put some sort of barrier between the back of the page and your markers to prevent bleaching through (I typically use a coat of CHEAP acrylic paint)
Thanks for sharing Mr. Danny! I’ve been an artist my whole life; I can’t escape the gravity of it all. You have inspired me to start my 3 year old twin grandsons on their own sketchbook journey.
That is awesome!
Great lecture and very inspiring
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, Danny 😊
My pleasure!
Love this
Yes! 💯💖🙌 Thank you so much!
You are so welcome

This course is amazing! I can’t believe how easy your explanations are and your voice is so soothing… I’m extremely anxious today as I’m taking a flight and I hate flying but I’ll take a notebook and pen with me and just draw!
Thank you ❤❤❤
Loved all of the pet pictures! I enjoyed watching your sketches of picnic stuff. Happy Fourth of July!
Be kind to yourself and trust the creative process ❤️🔥🌹thanks for being you
Absolutely!!
Danny, thank you for reminding me that the way I look at the world isn't quite like everyone else. I went to art college in the early seventies. Even as a kid, drawing was who I was. I had a long career in advertising and publishing. Even though at 72 I've long since squeezed all the juice out of 'making art' I needed to be reminded that any time my eyes are open I'm always drawing or composing mentally. These people you're inspiring seem to feel the way I do now that I play music, having begun at age 66.
Why do you think writing essays are connected to your art making? What drives the desire to write especially in the essay form?
Such a great listen
These are great!! ❤
That was fun😂. Happy Independence day ❤
I would love to see a 2nd essay book. I miss the podcasts but you have to do you 🤙🏻
Lovely! 🌻✨
I challenged my sister to join me doing one small drawing every day for a month and posting it. Accountability works.

These are wonderful and made me smile!
Love this video! Fantastic advice! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m a teenager. A one who gets very anxious especially at school. Every day I’d come home and I’d draw for hours and I still do that even in the summer. I haven’t been able to draw as much because of moving but I draw as much as possible. I hope I can keep drawing for however long I live. I love to paint in acrylics the most. Everything about the process makes me feel happy and calm. From the smell to the mixing. I have been drawing seriously for about a year since like last Augest and my progress has been amazing. It helps a lot. I hope with drawing I can keep myself healthy and happy.
